What is a stainless steel grade 2205 coil?
Duplex 2205 coil is a two-phase, ferritic, austenitic 22 percent chromium, 3 percent molybdenum, and 5 to 6 percent nickel alloyed stainless steel. As alloy 2205 grade coils have high strength and hardness, the 2205 alloy requires more cold forming than austenitic steel, and due to its high strength, it must take full account of the rebound factor. The two-phase microstructure of stainless steel is useful in improving the stress corrosion resistance of stainless steel. The processing equipment is susceptible to corrosive conditions and loading cycles, and the properties of grade 2205 are ideal for such applications. This grade contains 4.5-6. 5 percent nickel contents and 3-3.5 percent molybdenum content in their chemical composition. The yield strength of 2205 duplex stainless steel coil is more than double that of ordinary austenitic stainless steel.

What are the important applications of 2205-grade stainless steel coils?
