What is a 30815-grade stainless steel coil?
Stainless steel grade 30815 coil is a low nickel content alloy, which
gives slightly more advantage in reducing sulfide atmospheres when
compared to high nickel alloys. The addition of high silicon, nitrogen,
and cerium contents in grade 30815 coil gives the steel high elevated
temperature strength, good oxide stability, and excellent resistance to
sigma phase precipitation. These coils contain a maximum of 0.10 percent
carbon content and around 20-22 percent chromium content in their
chemical composition. At high temperatures, these stainless steel coils
quickly form a thin, highly adherent, and elastic oxide. This oxide
gives good protection even under cyclic conditions. These grades have a
low sulfur percentage.
What are the key properties of SS
grade 30815 coils?
These grades due to mixed chemical composition possess several
properties such as high strength, resistance to several corrosion
environments, high pressure, and temperature control in applications
requiring temperature above about 500°C and up to about 900°C. Along
with these properties these coils also have good formability,
weld-ability, toughness, ultimate tensile strength, and structural
accuracy leading to high reliability. Grade 30815 SS has excellent
mechanical and physical properties even in critical environments.
