Stainless Steel 304H is an austenitic chromium-nickel steel alloy with increased tensile and yield strengths due to its higher carbon content. Because SS 304H Coils have a higher carbon content, they are better suited for use in high-temperature applications.
Stainless Steel 304H Coils are advised for use in ASME pressure vessels in working service over 525 degrees C due to the grade's heat-resistant characteristics. Moderate oxidizing and reducing conditions, as well as air corrosion, are not problems for 304H stainless steel coils. On the other hand, because of its high carbon content, the SS 304H coil is vulnerable to carbide precipitation in the heat-affected zone of welds.
Stainless Steel 304H Coils have good resistance to air corrosion, foods and beverages, and many organic and inorganic compounds in mildly oxidizing to moderately reducing conditions. Due to the alloy's high chromium concentration, it can withstand nitric acid up to 55% of its weight and 176°F (80°C) without deteriorating. Stainless Steel 304H Coils have a higher carbon content, which improves the material's heat resistance, tensile yield strength, short- and long-term creep strength, and other properties.
In addition to being utilized in industrial boilers, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pipelines, condensers, and across the power generation industry, stainless steel 304H coils are frequently employed in the oil, gas, and chemical industries.
