What is stainless steel grade 310S plate?
Grade 310S stainless steel is a low-carbon version of the grade 310 SS plate. These plates have lightly enhanced carbide precipitation and greatly improved weldability. They are essentially nonmagnetic as annealed and become lightly magnetic when cold worked. These grade plates contain 25% chromium content and 20% nickel content in their overall chemical composition, making them highly resistant to oxidation and corrosion. 310S stainless steel is the lower carbon version of the 310 plate which is less prone to embrittlement and sensitization in service. These plates also have good resistance to oxidation in intermittent service in the air up to 1035°Cand 1050°Cin continuous service. These are one of the widely used plates among other similar grades.

310S stainless steel plates withstand very high temperatures, making them useful for a wide range of industries. Some of the key properties of these grade plates are weld-ability, ability to work under high pressure and temperature, formability, toughness, low maintenance, immunity to environments containing chlorides, and resistance to intergranular corrosion. Along with these properties grades, 310S plates also possess extraordinary metallurgical and physical properties enhancing their overall value.
