What is a grade 321 SS plate?
Stainless steel grade 321 plates are austenitic alloys stabilized with the addition of Titanium. They contain chromium content of around 17-19 percent, a maximum of 0.08 percent of carbon content, and a maximum of 0.70 percent of Titanium content in their overall chemical composition. These plates can be used in the operating environment over about 500°C as they've high hot strength. These plates can be elongated by 40 percent in various applications. They have a melting point between 1398-1146 degrees C and so can be utilized in many high-temperature applications such as heat exchangers.
What are the key properties of these SS 321 grade plates?
Stainless steel plates of grade 321 possess several key properties and features such as exceptional strength, formability, weld-ability, resistance to intergranular corrosion, pitting corrosion and other general corrosion surroundings, and excellent toughness, even down to cryogenic temperatures. Along with these properties they also have nonpareil physical properties and structural as well as chemical stability. All such features make them highly reliable grade plates among the grade series. These plates are highly durable and require low-maintenance consuming minimum maintenance cost.
