Properties of Stainless Steel 321 Sheet:
321 stainless steel sheet is an austenitic substance at its core. The
inclusion of Titanium stabilizes the grade.
• Stainless steel 321 sheets are commonly used in applications requiring
temperatures of up to 1,650°F.
• 321 stainless is a titanium-reinforced alloy that excels in high-temperature
conditions, giving resistance to cracking and corrosion. Stainless steel 321 sheet
offers high strength, scaling resistance, and phase stability, as well as resistance
to aqueous corrosion.
• Because 304L sheet is more readily available in the majority of product
geometries, it is frequently favored over 321 sheets if the only need is resistance
to intergranular corrosion after welding.
• However, because 304L has less heat strength than 321 sheets, it may not be the
best choice if resistance to operating temperatures beyond 932 °F is required.
Uses of Stainless Steel 321 Sheets:
• There are several applications for stainless steel 321 sheets, particularly in
situations requiring higher temperatures.
• Heat exchangers, bellows, expansion joints, heating element tubing, and spiral
welded tubes for burner pipes are all examples of components.
